About Us - Statement of Faith

We believe in one triune God—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—who is Creator, Redeemer, and Sovereign Ruler of all Creation.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the incarnate Son of God. He was crucified and died substitutionally for man’s sinful disobedience to God. He was buried and rose again from the dead on the third day, and He ascended to God the Father.

We believe that the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God—our standard for faith and practice.

Salvation
We believe that God created us in His own image, but through disobedience, we became separated from God. Without God we are without hope. Scripture presents Good News—that we can be saved if we repent from our sin, believe with our hearts and publicly confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Water baptism is the scriptural means for a believer to acknowledge entering new life in Christ. No one but God can bring us from our state of separation and sin to a state of reconciliation and glory.

Ministry of the Believer
We believe that Jesus, through His shed blood, has become our High Priest and has made it possible for us to become priests with full access to the presence of God the Father. We can and should come confidently before Him, sacrificially offering both the worship of our lips and the fruit of our lives to God.

We believe that disciples of Christ receive the Holy Spirit, our Comforter and Teacher, who empowers us to be effective witnesses of the Gospel. We believe that the Holy Spirit imparts gifts which surpass man’s own ability to accomplish God’s will. These gifts, given for the edification of the church, ought to be operative in the church, supervised by mature leaders, and ministered in love by Christians whose lives reflect godly character.

The Church
We believe that the Church is Christ’s body in the earth. As part of God’s kingdom, each local church must seek to walk in harmony with other Christians because God views all His people as one people. Believers in each local church should live in a covenant community—laying down our lives in practical ways, serving, encouraging, forgiving and correcting one another in a brotherly fashion when necessary.

We believe that Jesus Christ, who is Lord of the church, has established government and ministry in the church. We believe that the scriptural norm calls for each local church to have a plurality of elders or pastors with one pastor presiding.

The Lord sets people under pastoral care for maturing of character and developing of ministry. He gives apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers to mature the Church and equip it to do its work in the earth.

We believe that the church should be supported by tithes and offerings of those committed to its mission. Further, when people serve God with a free spirit, there is financial abundance to accomplish God’s purposes.

Evangelism
We believe in world evangelism, accepting the commission of Jesus Christ to make disciples of all nations and to teach them to observe His commandments.

Christ’s Return
We believe in the visible return of Jesus Christ to manifest His government in the earth. We believe Christians should lovingly look for His appearing, giving full attention to obedience until He returns. The righteous who have died will be resurrected at His appearing.

Judgement
We believe in a final judgement at the end of the age. Those who have followed the Lord Jesus Christ will be rewarded and enjoy His eternal blessings. Those who have chosen not to will be eternally punished.
