I believe that God is always at work, always drawing people to himself through Jesus, always creating his kingdom in hearts that are willing, and extending it through lives that are faithful.

Brian Emmet

Brian was born in Detroit and encountered Jesus Christ as a freshman at Harvard, in 1974. In 1977, he married Kathy Bell. Over thirty years later, the two have three wonderful children, Katie, Amy, and Peter, and four wonderful grandchildren.

In 1985, he became the headmaster of Covenant School, while teaching the school’s 5th and 6th grades. In 1986, he began serving alongside Erick Schenkel as an assistant pastor of Covenant Church. In 1996, Brian became the head pastor of Covenant Church, and, in 2009, Brian left his post as the headmaster of Covenant School to serve full-time as the pastor of Covenant Church.  Brian passed the mantle to Zack Phillips in September 2018 and continues his ministry and coaching from North Carolina.

Brian puts his philosophy of ministry into the following words:

“I believe that God is always at work, always drawing people to himself through Jesus, always creating his kingdom in hearts that are willing, and extending it through lives that are faithful. My role as a pastor is to proclaim God’s life-changing, life-shaping, life-transforming Message; to help people discern what God is saying to them; and to help them get going on loving God with everything they’ve got and loving their neighbors as they love themselves.”
