Don started attending Covenant Church in 2000 with his wife and two children. He placed his faith in Jesus in 1983 while completing his Master of Architecture degree at MIT. As chair of the Board of Elders, Don hopes to strengthen the church in its ability to love God, each other, our neighbors and the world. He believes that the best way of sharing one’s faith is through a natural contagious enthusiasm for following Christ.

Born and raised in Houston, TX, he spent his youth camping, fishing, scouting, studying, sweating and dreaming of cooler climes. After two years of college at Texas Tech in Lubbock , he took a semester off, moved to Colorado, and took up construction, property management and the stressful life of becoming a ski bum who had never seen snow. His semester break stretched out a bit, … into four years, … after which he returned to college at the University of Colorado in Boulder for a degree in Environmental Design.

In the 17 years between coming to Christ and showing up at Covenant, he attended Park Street Church in Boston, serving on the Board of Missions, Deacons, and Elders.

Don and his wife were missionaries in Nepal from 1990 to 1993 where Don served as an architect with the United Mission to Nepal. Their children, Jason and Juliana, were born during this time, so Eileen was the real hero of their stay in the developing world.

Don is a partner in an architectural firm that focuses on restoration and rehabilitation of historic town halls, churches, schools and community centers. He enjoys walking daily for exercise, and when possible, joins with friends for a round of golf. He lives close to Covenant and truly appreciates being able to worship and serve in this vibrant neighborhood church.
