Chuck and his family came to Covenant during the church’s first pastor transition. They were living in Arlington and felt called to worship at a church nearby so that their church community would not be limited to a weekly worship service. For over 25 years, Covenant has been the vibrant Christian community that they were seeking.

In addition to serving as an Elder, Chuck helps to manage the church finances and is an active member of the weekly men’s group. Chuck and his wife Janet are convinced that we are living during a time of community breakdown. They have found a meaningful community at Covenant that is encouraging, prophetic, and often challenging.

Chuck and Janet have four children who were home-schooled through high school. Their oldest child, Elizabeth recently returned to Massachusetts with her husband Rich. Rich was a Pastor in North Carolina and is now studying software engineering. Elizabeth teaches at New Covenant School. Katherine is a PT student at Simmons College and is engaged to Alejandro Romero, a pastor and Army chaplain in Virginia. Caroline works at Mercy Connections in Burlington, VT as an Americorps Vista. Their youngest child, David plans to graduate from Houghton College in 2024.

Chuck and Janet's home in Lexington has long been an active community in its own right with extended family and guests. Currently, they live with Janet's sister, two of their children, and one son-in-law. And let's not forget Watson, their dog—often the most demanding member of the family.

Chuck has spent his professional career developing educational software. He has had the opportunity to serve a number of non-profit organizations over the years. Currently, he is a board member at VHS Learning and Christians for Social Action. He is also an advisor to Misión de Caridad and Mars Hill Audio.
