The focus of the music ministry at Covenant is best defined by these two imperatives: Equip and Inspire.

Equipping

We seek out, listen to, and evaluate new material for consideration as part of our Sunday morning set list. Among specific considerations for a prospective song are:

  • Doctrinal soundness

  • Likeability – If we don’t like what we’re playing it is impossible to be inspirational.

  • Singability – Worship in song is participatory. We try to select be vocally accessible songs.

  • Flavor – Is it us?

Inspiring

“Sing joyfully to the Lord, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him. Praise the Lord with the harp; make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.” Psalm 33:1-3

We labor to worship God through skillfully played music and honor Him with carefully selected songs.
